The Trip made for great pictures!

So last September Kent and I did an awesome two and half week drive/visit to relatives across Canada from BC to move to  a small town in southern Ontario.

I'm going to catch up on the trip because it really was great. Then by the end of this week I should have the blog up to date. Famous last words probably lol.

*************************************************

This first picture was in Glacier National Park. It was another summer of fires which was a bit scary. We lived in Kamloops during the fires of 2003 and were not hoping for a repeat.
Then is was off to the Rockies with the destination being my daughter's house in Calgary.

The Man.
The Rockies
How does Ms. Chyna cope??
There we were greeted by this great sign made by our grandson. The chickens were everywhere ! We play minecraft together so the boy had stuck small pieces of paper everywhere with 'chicken', even on the guestroom ceiling :). In minecraft he fills my house with chickens.

We've been here 9 months now and it's great. There was some adjusting to not hearing sirens and police cars all day long. And to seeing family everyday. To having a big yard and living in a basement suite not a house ( but it's my sister's big house and we have free run of it. Plus there are other dogs in the house which Ms Chyna loves . Our place is lovely and serene).
The politics tend to be divided and we are on the not so popular left. All of this is super interesting and fun and LIVELY. We love it. Kent found work right away cooking again and he's a happy guy .
We're close enough to so many things, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, Buffalo, Toronto. We've already done a Winterlude trip to Ottawa/Hull that was terrific.
And this little town is beautiful.

Repost of Ruby Lace Stole/Scarf

When I logged in to Ravelry today, I got a note from rita0000 She was posting an old pattern of mine . I stupidly deleted a blog of mine quite a while ago and totally forgot I could use the wayback machine to find it. At least I'm assuming that's what she did. Anyhow reposting here :) .
If I made this again I'd likely make it one or two repeats wider and also longer. But this scarf was great for me , a daily task when I really needed one. And my sister still loves it.
**************************************************I used Zephyr in Ruby and knit on a 4 mm needle. Used approximately 400 metres. I didn’t measure for gauge - six repeats of the scroll pattern gave me about 14 inches wide. I cast off when it was about 62 inches long ( which blocked to 65 inches). I’m going to make it again with four repeats and add beads as well because i think it would make a pretty stole.
I cast on 62 stitches ( 6 x 10 +2) .
Scroll pattern: multiple of 10 plus 2

There, i’ve checked and rechecked my typing so hopefully i’ve got it right!
I’ll test knit it later to make sure since i’m going to cast on for another :)
Edited to say, yep it checks out fine!
